"They're off!! -- The Church holiday group set off this morning on their annual jaunt, their base this year being Llandudno, with trips to Anglesey, Llangollen, Mold, Portmeirion and Porthmadog also included in their week-long itinerary.
Doubtless there will also be plenty of opportunities for retail therapy throughout the week, as well as the usual relaxed banter on the coach.
Unkindly labelled "Saga Tours" in some quarters, there were no zimmers in sight, and only a few walking aids as they boarded their coach at the church. Rumours that Bob Craig and Ian Maxwell had been allocated seats in the boot on account of their behaviour on previous trips have been strongly denied by the Treasurer/organiser, May Shaw -- but further evidence to the contrary is awaited.................
We wish them well, and hope that the sun shines on them throughout their holiday.
STOP PRESS. It has just been reported that after 3 hours they have now left Haughton Hall Garden Centre in Carlisle (journey time 1 hour/shopping time 2 hours)!"
